The 2015 Ford F-150 pickup debuted at the Detroit auto show on Monday.

In an earlier post, we asked you about your thoughts on the truck’s move to a more aluminum-intensive design—you can read that post here. While that post was opinion-oriented, we wanted to follow up with a Joe Friday-inspired post about the new F-Series—just the facts.

In that spirit, here are nine facts about the new Ford F-150:

  1. The F-150 body is now 95 percent high-strength aluminum
  2. The F-150 frame is 77 percent high-strength steel
  3. Ford has cut as much as 700 pounds from the F-150
  4. The truck will be available with two brand new engines options: a 2.7L turbocharged V6 Ecoboost and a 3.5L V6
  5. Ford tested the 2.7L engine at the Baja 1000
  6. The truck will also be available with  3.5L V6 Ecoboost and 5.0L V8 engine options
  7. Ford says the 2015 F-150 includes 11 class-exclusive features—400-watt power outlet, 360-degree camera, sideview mirror-integrated spotlights, and more
  8. The new Ford will be built at the company’s Dearborn, MI plant
  9. The 2015 F-150 will be available in 11 different colors

if the painted aluminum is as bad as the last ten years of mustang aluminum hoods, its gonna be a bigger problem than the Windstar. Just Google Ford aluminum hood bubbling.
2014 auto show mustangs had blistered hood undersides already- if they haven’t fixed it ten years into it, I have absolutely zero confidence that all will suddenly be well overnight. If it is, then shame on Ford for not correcting a known problem if a solution existed.
