Is This the 2016 Ford Mustang GT350?
The crew at Ford SVT continues to refine an unnamed performance version of the 2016 Ford Mustang, which an Automobile photographer caught on camera driving around the mean streets of Michigan.
This first high-performance version of the sixth-generation Mustang introduces wider rear fenders and a variety of vents and scoops that differentiate it from the standard 2015 Ford Mustang.
We still don’t know what the car will be named, but many in the industry speculate it will be designated as a GT350, powered by an updated version of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 engine belonging to the current Ford Shelby GT500 which produces 662 horsepower.
The one thing we’re sure of is that Ford is gunning for the 580-horsepower Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the new recently unveiled Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat which will make more than 600 horsepower with its 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 power plant.
