A grand jury in Ontario County, NY has decided not to bring criminal charges against NASCAR driver Tony Stewart, according to the New York Times. The grand jury heard testimony regarding the accident from more than two dozen witnesses this week.

Stewart’s race car struck and killed 20-year-old Kevin Ward Jr. at a Sprint Car race on August 9. During the incident, Ward exited his race car after his vehicle was spun out by Stewart’s car. He appeared to attempt to confront Stewart as he drove past, but was struck by Stewart’s vehicle. Ward was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after.
