Video 101: An Introduction to Shocks vs. Struts
In this Summit Racing Quick Flicks video, you will learn the basic differences between shocks and struts.
Struts are similar to shocks in that they dampen road vibrations; however, they are a structural part of your vehicle’s suspension. A shock requires a upper and lower control arm to hold the front wheel hub. A strut has a lower control arm and attaches to the hub assembly to provide structural support as well as vibration dampening.
