Top Gear Host Jeremy Clarkson Suspended by BBC
In our inaugural Reader’s Choice Awards, you named Top Gear BBC as your favorite auto-related TV show.
Now, according to some reports, the show’s future could be in doubt. Host Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended (again) due to a reported “fracas” with a producer. Here’s the short-but-sweet announcement from BBC:
“Following a fracas with a BBC producer, Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation. No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday. The BBC will be making no further comment at this time.”
Clarkson was already on a tight leash. Last May he wrote in his Sun newspaper column that he was told by the BBC if he made “one more offensive remark, anywhere at any time, I will be sacked.”
How will Clarkson’s suspension affect the future of Top Gear BBC—if at all? Will Clarkson remain on the show? And can the show survive without him? Tell us your thoughts below.

Sure Clarkson is a bit over-board… but Clarkson made Top Gear. Jeremy was consistent from the begining. He’s a bit of a donkey most of the time but he’s also just brilliant television especially on a car show. I love him on the show. This being said, he’s getting old. He didn’t care back in the day and you tend to care less (about these sort of things) as you get older. Even more so in the fame industry. Eventually someone has to replace him for the show to continue. I don’t know how they’re going to do it.
I’ve been in the motor trade, heavily involved with motor sport from top fuel dragsters to formula ford and if it were my choice I’d drag him into the woods and………. Got it.

Jeremy is the show. He is, who he is. The comments are what made You $$$$$$$$. You Knew that when you hired him. So Fire him and the $$$$$$$$$ you make from him will be gone. Suck it up and keep him and the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ will just keep coming in. He is loved by all for who he is. that just will never change. Please do nt get me wrong because no one on that team can be replaced.they are all what seems to be the perfect fit for that show.
I totally agree with everyone,tell the producer he won’t be able to keep his “Villa” in Spain if he doesn’t apologise and offer a new contract and high pay to Clarkson. He is the show.
He’s not the only expert on the planet, his shenanigans are personal choice, and if a person is convinced that they are the exclusivity of a production, then maybe it’s time to dismantle the show. When gratitude and appreciation are missing from productions, the fans are disrespected, we are the reason for ratings, popularity, advertising investment. Forgetting US as cause for success, that’s the sign selfism has replaced appreciation and respect, this dude isn’t that charming as to deserve the weight for the full success of the production.
If he gets the boot, keep the show off. Im done watching it anyway, or bring it back. Sounds like somebodys a little girl
