And then there were four.

Or, if you’re a Ford or Mopar guy, then there were none! The General and his army of vehicles–two Pontiacs, one Chevrolet, and one Cadillac–have dispatched the competition faster than Jameis Winston signs autographs. If you’re a GM guy, it makes perfect sense. If you’re not, it makes as much sense as the Big Ten having 14 teams. Or Texas A&M being in the Southeastern Conference.

One thing is for certain: The voters have spoken and playoffs roll on. Unlike the college football playoffs, our winner must survive four rounds of competition–competition in the form of reader votes. Check out the semi-final match-ups and help determine your winners by voting (see below):

The Cadillac CTS-V knocked off a couple of Fords en route to the round of four. It took out the 2010 F-150 SVT Raptor and the 2003 Mustang Cobra–some of the best that Ford’s Special Vehicle Team has to offer. Now it’s taking its 556 horsepower to the 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6.

The WS6 was the readers’ top write-in choice. It defeated the powerful, weighty 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 and the affordable, spunky 2009 Pontiac GXP. Apparently, performance enthusiasts miss the legendary Trans Am like Chevrolet fans missed the Z/28.

Speaking of the Z/28, Chevrolet resurrected the Z in 2013 to the tune of 505 horsepower. The 2014 Camaro Z/28 is so Chuck Norris bad that it beat down the 2013 SRT Viper in round two–despite a two-cylinder disadvantage! Now, it battles the ’06 GTO for a trip to the finals.

The 2006 Pontiac GTO is sort of a David and Goliath story. In the first round, it took out one of the most powerful production vehicles of all-time: the 2013 Shelby GT500. In the second round, it dispensed of the latest legendary Corvette: the Stingray Z51. The giant-slaying GTO proves once again that affordable performance goes a long, long way with our readers.

    Ws6 and Z28
    I hate the new Camaro bodystyle and LOVE the WS6’s. If it were down to performance-Z28 for sure. Even though the Z28 is MILES ahead EVERYWHERE, I just can’t say I like the Camaro over the WS6.. The WS6 was one of the classiest muscle cars EVER to come out of Detroit (or Canada..). And it gets 25-30 mpg!! (My 2000 does all day!)..
    It took how long to compete with the “LS” based-pushrod engine? Not sure anyone has yet.. Cars are too heavy for it to matter if they did!!
    Ford said it best.. We can’t touch the LS, so let’s supercharge our 40 liter (outside size) and try that!

    1st place-GTO, 2nd place-CTSV, 3rd place-WS6, 4th place-Z28
    Note; I could own all 3 of my top 3 picks and have $20000.00 left in my pocket for what the Z28 sells for. Maybe after 8 or 10 years of depreciation will that Z be worth having one.
