WEST SALEM, OH — This past weekend was a special one for the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA).

For starters, it was the 2017 IHRA Summit Sportsman National Championship, the final stop of a 14-race series.

Eight drivers took home IHRA Summit Sportsman National Championship titles. See full race results here.

The event also put an exclamation point on the rebirth of Dragway 42 in West Salem, OH. At over 60 years old, Dragway 42 is rich with history and fresh-off a multi-year restoration/renovation. (It even had that new-track smell!) Check out Dragway 42’s webpage for more info on the track, and you can see some pictures of the track’s renovation in this story.

We, of course, were there with a camera to capture the action—check out the gallery below.

Congratulations to all of the IHRA Summit Sportsman series drivers and crews for a great season of racing!
