This just may be the mother of all barn finds.

After all, how often do you stumble upon a rare 1969 Shelby GT500 in mint, showroom condition?

The car was owned by Larry Brown, who recently passed away, and it will be auctioned off by Ron Gilligan auctioneers. The unrestored car has sat idle since 1973 and has remained unwashed since then due to the owner’s fear of it rusting. The pristine GT500 has only 8,531 miles on it, but it’s 428 Cobra Jet powerplant fired right up with help from a fresh tank of gas. Nearly every piece is original right down to the spark plugs, belts, and hoses. It was even found with garbage bags over the seats and two layers of floor mats over the carpet, allowing the interior to stay as immaculate as possible.

You can learn more about the rare find on the Ron Gilligan Auctions website.
